Roberto E. Baez Ortiz is a native Spanish speaker born in the Dominican Republic. Roberto traveled to the United States when he was four years old. He spent the first part of his childhood living in the Bronx, NY. His family later relocated to Beltsville, MD where he spent the latter half of his childhood.

Roberto attended High Point High School located in Beltsville, MD until his senior year. While at High Point High School, Roberto was enrolled in the honor’s program and was very involved in athletics.

Roberto transferred to Mountain State Academy located in Beckley, WV his senior year in high school on a baseball scholarship. Roberto graduated with honors from Mountain State Academy in 2008.

Roberto then attended West Virginia Wesleyan College located in Buckhannon, WV where he made the Dean’s List every semester and was elected to join the Alpha Lambda Delta Freshmen Honorary Society. Roberto also played on the Bobcat’s NCAA Division II Baseball Team and joined the Delta Gamma Chapter of Theta Chi Fraternity. Roberto graduated magna cum laude in 2012 with a major in accounting and a minor in economics.

In the fall of 2012, Roberto began his studies at the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law . While in law school Roberto interned for organizations such as Old Line Legal Aid Foundation, the Baltimore City Public Defender’s Office, the Internal Revenue Service Office of Chief Counsel and Naima Said & Associates. Additionally, Roberto participated in the Low Income Taxpayer Clinic at the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law. Roberto graduated in May 2015 and was admitted to practice law in the state of Maryland in December 2015. Since then, Roberto has represented clients in the counties of Prince George’s, Montgomery, Frederick, Howard, Baltimore City, Baltimore County, and Anne Arundel.

As a first generation immigrant, Roberto knows how important it is to give back to his community and represent individuals who otherwise would not be able to afford legal representation. His mission is to provide affordable and reliable legal representation to all those in need.
